Is the Chauffeur “Fee” really their tip?

Nope.

This makes us 20% cheaper than other companies, because we include a tip in the quote. 

They don’t.

They don’t tell you this on their web site.  It’s a secret till the date of service.

Take a look at this screenshot from one companies website:

Now look again.  You read it wrong.

 It says “Chauffeur Fee (20%).  Is that the tip? 

No.  

That is the “fee” for the chauffeur.  The tip is additional (we confirmed this in writing via email – and it was not easy to get an answer out of them).  On the day of service, the chauffeur apparently informs you that the “chauffeur fee”, is not the tip, and that you need to tip the driver. 

Then they stick their hand out and embarrase you.

Isn’t that cute?

If you see “chauffeur fee” at another company, get it in writing before you book that it is the tip, and not some fee.  Odds are – they won’t do it.  We’ve tried anonymously.  They confirmed tip is undisclosed, and additional.    

Bottom line – their total cost is 20% higher than it appears, because their quotes do not include the tip – which means you’re probably going to have an embarassing end to your special occasion. 

For comparison, we do not have a “chauffeur fee”, because that is ridiculous.  After all, you can’t rent a limo without a chauffeur.
